Πρώτη φορά που είδα παράσταση χορογραφημένη, σκηνογραφημένη και ντυμένη από τη Martha Graham (όχι τίποτα γκραν γκινιόλ από τον τάφο, πρόκειται για αναβίωση παράστασης που πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε πριν από 50 χρόνια με την ίδια τη δημιουργό υπερηλικιωμένη πρωταγωνίστρια). Καθηλώθηκα, κατάπια τη γλώσσα μου, θαμπώθηκα από τα σώματα, καταράστηκα το διάλειμμα και ξέχασα τις οδομαχίες με τις Καπνικαρέες στο μπαρ του Μεγάρου από το πρώτο βήμα του αγγελιοφόρου στη σκηνή. Δε μου έρχονται πιο βαρύγδουπα επίθετα για να δηλώσω το δέος μου, ρίξε μια ματιά εδώ, αν και το βίντεο δεν έχει καμιά σχέση με την εντύπωση του real thing.
Clytemnystra’s project was my first live contact with Martha ‘s Graham world, the first play actually choreographed, staged and dressed by the Grande dame of modern dance (don’t think grand giniol- beyond the grave kind of stuff, it is a revival of a performance originally staged 50 years ago where the late creator was an aged protagonist). My attention was riveted, my mouth was open, my tongue was swallowed, my vision was blurred by the astonishing bodies, I cursed the break and forgot my conflicts with the old ladies in Athens’ Concert Hall foyer when the messenger took his first step on the stage. I cannot find now any more pompous words to describe my wonderment so pls check here although the video depiction is really far from the impression of the real thing.
